For non-destructive testing of permanent joints as part of pressure equipment (risk category III or IV, directive 2014/68/EU) you can apply for a recognised certificate of professional competence according to the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED). Till recently, the ISO 9712 certificates issued by Hobéon SKO in the sector ‘pre- and in-service testing, incl. manufacturing’ were coupled and thereby automatically provided with a PED declaration. This has changed, now an application for a PED declaration must be made separately. The candidate can indicate when applying for the ISO 9712 certification investigation whether he considers a PED declaration necessary. Hobéon SKO provides a PED declaration with a separate PED card (bank card size) in the event of a positive certification decision.
